DEACA is a functional non-fluorescent coumarin dye. Spectral Data: λex=443nm (MeOH). Used as a building block for the synthesis of fluorescent dyes. 3-Formylcoumarins are important building blocks for synthesis of various coumarin derivatives including materials for dye-sensitized solar cells, fluorescent labels and sensors. DEACA was also used for selective detection of bissulfite anions in water, forming a fluorescent product.
