Description
Hydroxycinnamic acid. Secondary plant metabolite of the phenylpropanoid pathway. It is a precursor in the biosynthesis of sinapic acid. Formed from ferulic acid by the action of the specific enzyme ferulate 5-hydroxylase (F5H).
