MQAE is a fluorescent chloride ion indicator for chloride measurement in cells. MQAE is a fluorescent indicator that is quenched via collision with chloride. The probe is suitable for detection of chloride concentrations in liposomes, reconstituted membranes or in extracellular medium. As a UV-excitable indicator, it can be detected using an argon-ion laser for confocal microscopy and flow cytometry applications. MQAE has greater sensitivity than SPQ and higher fluorescence quantum yield. Spectral Data: λex 350nm; λem 460nm in 0.1 M borate pH 8.0 (quenching with Cl-).
