Trifluoromethanesulphonanilide herbicide. Plant growth regulator based on the inhibition of distinct 3-ketoacyl-CoA synthase (KCS) isoenzymes in very-long-chain fatty acid (VLCFA) synthesis. Dependent on the affected KCS isoenzymes and the intensity of inhibition, plant phenotypes are induced which are characterized by shoot stunting with intensified green pigmentation or strong growth inhibition followed by tissue necrosis and plant death. Compound can be used as analytical reference material.
