Description
Human CD36 is a major platelet glycoprotein also found on monocytes, macrophages and some endothelial cells. CD36 may play a role in cell adhesion as a receptor for thrombospondin. CD36 is a receptor for adhesion of malaria infected erythrocytes. CD36 is also proported to have a role in phagocytosis.
