Description
Human CD79b is the B cell antigen receptor Ig β chain (BCR-Ig β) which associates with B cell antigen receptor Ig α chain to form a functional heterodimer that interacts with membrane immunoglobulin (mIg) (3). The mIgM component binds antigen and the Ig α/Ig β heterodimer transduces signals. Analysis of CD79b expression is useful in diagnosis of B cell lymphoproliferative disorders.
