Description
CD127 (IL-7Ra) is the specific receptor component for the cytokine interleukin -7 (IL-7). It is found on a wide variety of hematopoietic cell types including B cell precursors and the majority of T cells. Its expression levels are decreased on T cells following activation. CD127 can dimerize with CD132 (IL-2Rγ) to form a high affinity IL-7 receptor. CD127 engagement is necessary for T cell development in humans.
