Description
Dihydroergocryptine (DHEC) is a dopamine agonist of the ergoline group that is used as an antiparkinson agent in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Dihydroergocryptine is a mixture of two very similar compounds, alpha- and beta-dihydroergocryptine (epicriptine) at a ratio of 2:1. The major metabolites are Dihydroergocryptinine, 14-Hydroxy-dihydroergocryptine and a few other minor metabolites. These metabolites are excreted mainly in the urine.
