Description
5α-Androstan-3α,17β-diol is a metabolite of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and belongs to the family of androgenic steroids. It is formed from DHT via enzymatic conversion by 3α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3α-HSD). It has weak androgenic activity but plays a role in modulating androgen receptor signaling. It has been studied for its role in neurological function and androgenic activity in different tissues.
