Description
Bradykinin is a peptide that plays an important role in regulating blood pressure, inflammation, and vascular permeability. It is produced in the body as part of the kinin-kallikrein system and is a potent vasodilator, meaning it helps to relax blood vessels, which can lead to a decrease in blood pressure. Bradykinin binds to the bradykinin B2 receptor and acts as an agonist but does not bind the bradykinin B1 receptor.
