Scientific Background Information

Product Description
Bromothymol blue sodium salt is a pH indicator widely used in titrations, enzyme assays and biological buffer systems. It exhibits a distinct color transition from yellow (acidic) to blue (basic) over a pH range of 6.0-7.6, making it ideal for monitoring near-neutral solutions. Spectral data: λmax=427nm (acid form) and λmax=602nm (basic form). Enables reliable spectrophotometric pH determination. Has been used for freshwater pH measurements over a broad range of buffer intensities.
