Description

Non-selective cholinergic agonist that is resistant to the action of cholinesterases; inhibits apoptotic death of cultured neurons, and may induce apoptosis in thymocytes. Carbamoylcholine, also known as carbachol, is an analog of acetylcholine that activates acetylcholine receptors (AChR). Carbamoylcholine is an agonist of both nicotinic (nAChR) and muscarinic (mAChR) receptors.
