Scientific Background Information

Product Description

Dimethoate-d6 is a stable isotope-labeled analog of the organophosphorus insecticide dimethoate in which the O,O-dimethyl groups are deuterium labeled. It is widely used as an internal standard for the accurate quantification of dimethoate by LC-MS/MS and GC-MS in food, environmental, agricultural and biological samples. Dimethoate is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide widely used as an analytical reference standard and research chemical in agricultural, environmental, and toxicological studies. As a potent acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, dimethoate is employed in investigations of pesticide metabolism, environmental fate, residue analysis and mechanisms of organophosphate toxicity. The deuterated compound closely mimics the physicochemical properties of native dimethoate while providing a distinct mass spectral signature, making it an essential reference standard for isotope dilution analysis, method validation, and residue testing. This compound can be used as a reference compound.
