Isoorientin is a flavonoid with various biological properties. It has anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, gastroprotective and antinociceptive activities. It induces apoptosis in and reduces cell viability of cancer cells. It is a selective Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. Reduces expression of COX-2, IL-6, 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO), and TNF-α in RAW 264.7 cells. It also has shown to regulate lipid metabolism.
