Description
2-Methoxy-2,4-diphenyl-3(2H)-furanone (MDPF) is used as a sensitive fluorescent labeling reagent widely used to derivatize primary and secondary amines on molecules such as proteins. Upon derivatization, it produces highly stable and strongly fluorescent adducts, enabling reliable analysis by HPLC, fluorescence spectroscopy, or imaging techniques. MDPF is commonly applied in bioanalytical chemistry to measure amino acids, peptides, and amine-containing biomolecules, as well as in environmental and pharmaceutical studies for trace amine detection. Spectral Data: λEx=384 nm, λEm=472 nm (in acetonitrile after derivatization with hexylamine).
