Scientific Background Information

Product Description
NBD-β-alanine is a conjugate of β-alanine and the 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazole (NBD) fluorophore. The NBD group is attached to the amino group of β-alanine via an amide bond. The NBD group absorbs and emits light (typically excitation ~465 nm, emission ~535 nm), making this compound useful in fluorescence-based applications. NBD-β-alanine is utilized in various biochemical applications due to its fluorescent properties. It is also used as an intermediate in organic chemistry to synthesize fluorescent and bioactive compounds.
