Tribenuron-methyl is the methyl ester of the herbicide tribenuron and also the form in which tribenuron is used in pesticides and belongs to the group of sulfonylurea herbicides. Tribenuron-methyl is a systemic herbicide that is absorbed by the roots and leaves and then spreads throughout the plant. Like other sulphonylurea herbicides, tribenuron-methyl inhibits the cell division of the plants by disrupting the action of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS). Can be used as reference compound.
