Woollins' Reagent is an organophosphorus compound that finds widespread utilization as a reagent in organic synthesis. Woollins' Reagent participates in diverse reactions, such as yielding spiro heterocycles when combined with benzoic hydrazides, generating secondary amines, forming 10-membered phosphorus-selenium heterocycles in conjunction with aromatic diols, and facilitating ring-opening deselenation and phosphorus-phosphorus coupling. Woollins? Reagent has contributed to the synthesis of biologically active compounds, including anticancer drugs, antibiotics and antiviral agents.
