Fluorescent reagent. Hydroxyl-reactive fluorophore, sensitive for labeling alcohols (hydroxyl groups). Reacts with primary and secondary alcohols under mild conditions to yield highly fluorescent 7-methoxycoumarin-3-carbamic acid esters and is applicable for HPLC. Spectral data: λex=330nm; λem=402nm, in 0.1 M Tris pH 9. Also used for the labeling of glycerophospholipids and 7α-hydroxycholesterol.
