Description
  • Thiopeptide antibiotic.

  • Antibacterial agent by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.

  • Active against numerous Gram-positive pathogens, including methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus spp.

  • Inhibitor of domain II of elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu).

  • Inhibits protein synthesis by blocking the GDP to GTP conformational change and by directly competing with aminoacyl-tRNA for the same binding site on EF-Tu.
