ChromaLink Biotin is the most advanced protein biotinylation reagent available. It features a succinimidyl ester functional group, which modifies protein lysine residues in an aqueous buffer. The linker is UV-traceable, and absorbs at 354 nm. This UV-signature permits rapid quantification of incorporated biotin, by means of nondestructive measurement (A280/A354 nm). The linker possesses an extended PEG3 spacer, which helps preserve and maintain streptavidin/biotin affinity. This kit is used to biotinylate antibodies, proteins and peptides greater than 7kDa for the use in Western Blot, ELISA, immobilization and immunohistochemistry applications. May also be used in any assay as an alternative to a standard NHS-Biotin linker.
