Scientific Background Information
BTBCT is a high-affinity macrocyclic chelating agent specifically developed for the stable complexation of lanthanide metal ions, including europium (Eu³⁺). Owing to its exceptional metal-binding properties, BTBCT is widely used in the preparation of fluorescent lanthanide conjugates for time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) assays, providing high sensitivity and low background signal. The reagent can be coupled to biomolecules such as antibodies, proteins, peptides, or streptavidin to generate highly stable europium-labeled detection reagents for immunoassays, receptor-binding studies, and other fluorescence-based applications. The excellent stability of BTBCT-lanthanide complexes minimizes metal dissociation, ensuring robust assay performance and reproducible results.
